Kanye West Reveals G.O.O.D. Music Album Title & New Film (Movie Poster Inside)

Kanye West has revealed the album title for the long-awaited G.O.O.D. Music compilation, as well as a new film to debut at Cannes Film Festival.

According to a press release, the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album will be titled Cruel Summer, which is also the name of the film making its debut at Cannes on May 23rd as an out-of-competition entry.

The film will be a seven-screen viewing experience with a physical art installation. It will remain open for two days following its premiere in France, and tickets are available for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Usher set the weekend off right with a sizzling set on the “Today” ToyotaConcert Series. Fans lined up in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza to catch the R&B veteran performing old and new hits including his chart-topping singles “Climax,” “OMG,” and “Without You.”

He spoke with Matt Lauer about his upcoming album Looking 4 Myself, due June 12. “The last two, three years of my life have been an incredible journey musically and emotionally, so all of the finds of Looking 4 Myself went into thisalbum,” he said.

“There’s a mantra that I’ve kinda adopted and it is evolve or evaporate. That is really the meaning of life, if we decide to not allow ourselves to move forward musically, in life, whatever it may be, we’ll never see the beauty in it.”

He shouted out his two sons Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely Raymond who were watching at home. “The most important part now is being involved as aperson, being an incredible father,” explained the 33-year-old singer. “That’s probably one of the greatest goals of all. Receiving awards, having houses, cars… That doesn’t mean anything. Having incredible young men raised is the most important part of all of it.”

U2′s Bono to Become the World’s Richest Musician

U2 frontman Bono will become the richest musician in the world thanks to the Facebook IPO, overtaking Paul McCartney, according to NME.   

Facebook is set to float on the stock exchange and all its early investors are set to earn huge amounts of money from the flotation, with the Irish singer among them.

Private equity firm Elevation Partners, which the U2 singer joined after it was created in 2004 by co-founders Roger McNamee and Marc Bodnick, owns a 2.3 percent stake in Facebook, which it bought for $90 million (£57 million) in 2009 and now stands to make a handsome return.

Given the social media company is valued at over $100 billion (£63 billion), this makes Elevation’s stake worth more than $1.5 billion (£940 million). It is unclear exactly how much of Elevation’s gains from the IPO would go to Bono, but it may push his worth beyond that of McCartney’s fortune of £665 million ($1.05 billion), it said.

Donna Summer has died following a battle with cancer. She was 63.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” her family said Thursday, in a statement to THR. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Summer, who has two daughters with singer Bruce Sudano, dominated the disco charts in the ’70s, churning out hits such as “Last Dance,” “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff.”

T.I. Supports President Obama in Backing Gay Marriage

Jay-Z is not the only rapper taking a stand for same-sex marriage. T.I. is speaking out in support of President Obama’s stance on the hot topic.

“Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don’t care,” Tip told MTV’s “RapFix Live.” “I think that if a matter doesn’t affect your daily life, you shouldn’t take ahard stand on it. If it’s not something that directly affects you, if it doesn’t affect you, then what difference does it make to you what other people are doing with their lives?”

He added, “I think that you should be able to do whatever you want to do. I don’t see how it matters one way or another.”

The King of the South will be voting to re-elect President Obama when he gets off probation in September. “I don’t think that’s a hard question,” he said.

In addition to his own album Trouble Man, due September 4, he is plotting collaborative projects with B.o.B and Young Jeezy. “Between the two of us, we probably got about five or six records,” he said of his work with Jeezy.
